Robot Integration for Repetitive Handling in Automotive Manufacturing

ProConcepts transformed an operator-tended machine into a fully automated lights-out robot cell. We designed and integrated a complete system with custom end-of-arm tooling and coordinated controls to handle repetitive tasks. The result: consistent cycles, dramatically reduced manual labor, and autonomous operation for up to 4 hours between simple operator load/unload cycles.

Primary Objective

Support higher sustained throughput

Industry

Industrial manufacturing

Production Challenge

Several manual stations were required to complete a sequence of assembly and handling steps, limiting throughput and tying up multiple operators. As demand grew, the existing layout became a constraint, and adding more labor or standalone equipment was no longer practical.

Custom Solution

ProConcepts defined the target process and cycle time with the client, then designed a custom machine that combined the key operations into one automated system. We modeled the machine in 3D CAD, engineered tooling and controls, built and tested the unit offline, and then installed and integrated it into the existing line with on-site tuning and operator training.
